Help Secure Funds for Kitayama Elementary School

With the Scholar Dollars Grant, Kitayama Elementary, a Title 1 school serving 805 diverse students in Alameda County, can expand its student MakerSpace learning lab to help redesign it as a MakerSpace/ STEAM Learning Lab. The lab will include robots for coding applications and makerspace equipment, which might include drills, saws and more. We envision creating a space where all students can work together: Walls of Metal Sheeting where students might use magnetic tracks to create roller coasters; a Lego wall where they might work collaboratively on designing architecture or the playground of the future, and of course books to support them in their learning and research. With this grant we will be able to create our new innovative lab to support a STEAM Educational approach, which offers access points for guiding student inquiry, dialogue and critical thinking. This will help us meet our school wide focus of students constructing viable arguments, and critiquing the arguments of others through collaboration, interpretation and production. Please consider supporting this wonderful program.
