Would you like helpful tips and strategies for reading and writing with your child at home?

Please join us for Family Literacy Night, March 10, from 6pm to 7:30 pm, where we will have a welcome and overview in the cafeteria, followed by group sessions, where you'll learn and practice with your child.

Book Bucks will be starting soon! During the week of March 22 to 26th, many teachers will be participating in this annual Book Bucks activity. Each night, students will take home an Argus newspaper from school. Inside, they can find activities and "checks" for a parent to fill out and sign. If they complete the activities and return the "checks" to school, they can receive Book Bucks! Book Bucks can be used at many local businesses for free or discounted products or services!

Kitayama's students will shine in our Spring Concert on March 31st! Join us in the Multi-purpose room at 7 pm to celebrate our students' hard practice and talent! There will be a contest for the art on the cover of our program. Our theme this year is "In the Garden". Drawings and art are due by March 24th, so get those creative ideas flowing!

Come and join us for our Multi-cultural pot luck night on March 26th from 6 to 8 pm. The night is sure to be a great opportunity to visit with families from Kitayama. Along with great food, we will also have entertainment, including our Kityama choirs and recorders.

Also starting at 6 pm will be our annual silent auction! Silent auction proceeds go to classrooms to help pay for field trips and consumable classroom materials. Read More… »»

To celebrate Dr. Seuss' birthday this month, Kitayama held a Read Across America Family Night! On March 3rd, 2010, guest readers and speakers included local dignitaries, authors and celebrities! Thanks to all of those that made this magical night possible!

We are excited to announce our first ever PTA sponsored “Dance-A-Thon” fund raiser, which will be held during the first week of February to raise money for our school.  These funds are necessary to purchase basic classroom supplies due to the on-going State Budget reductions.  All students will dance for 30 minutes, during their regularly scheduled PE class.  We encourage you to support your children and our school by pledging them for this event.  You can either pledge per minute of dancing or a flat fee.  Checks should be made payable to Kitayama PTA.< Read More… »»
