Come and join us for our Multi-Cultural Potluck night on Friday, March 22nd. The night is always a great opportunity to visit with families from Kitayama, eat some delicious food, enjoy entertainment and participate in our annual Silent Auction. We look forward to seeing you all there!

Learn about the new standards! Common Core Parent Awareness Meeting: Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at Cesar Chavez Middle School Forum 6:30pm -7:30pm

Bring the flyer from your child's Thursday folder to Chili's at Union Landing, 32120 Dyer St, Union City from 12pm (right after the Modified Day) to 9pm, and Chili's will donate 20% of the sales to Kitayama!

Family Math Night is just around the corner!  It will be on Wednesday, January 30th from 6-7.  This is a free evening for parents and families to come learn about math! As we have done in the past, we will focus on the varied math strands for all grades-- a family hands on math night.  Spanish translation for the evening will be provided, as will childcare.

Tragedies like the one that struck Newtown, Connecticut, on Friday December 14, can affect the lives of adults and children even thousands of miles away.  Children can struggle with events like this in ways that are both visible and imperceptible to those around them.  Attached is a list of suggestions and reminders for parents and teachers from the National Association of School Psychologists designed to help children cope with disasters of this nature.
